We will never recommend a certain dial or number to set your wax heater to. All wax heaters can differ slightly and fluctuate with how they heat/melt and how they maintain temperature. Here’s why:
- The treatment room environment: Is your treatment room hot/cold? Is it winter or summer time? Does your treatment room have A/C or heating on?
- How much wax is in your heater: Is the heater full of product? Is it only half full? Is the temperature dial adjusted to reflect how much product is in the heater?
- Your wax heater: Is it the recommended size heater for the wax you are using? Is the heater in good condition? Does the heater need to be replaced?
- Your wax heater lid: Do you leave on when melting for a quicker melt time? Do you replace the lid after each treatment? Do you adjust the temperature when the lid is on the heater? By placing the lid on the wax heater, it will contain the heat within the heater which can be helpful when melting wax and keeping your wax uncontaminated in between clients. But it can also be risky if the temperature isn’t adjusted accordingly, which can lead to wax being over-heated.
Ultimately, we recommend that you become familiar with the consistency and temperature of your Waxperts wax in your own heater, in your own treatment. Then, the best thing to do is to carry out a temperature check on wrist before each client.
